OTTO AUREK STEFAN

I made these headphones as a personal project to explore what could be done with Rhino+Grasshopper and 3D printing. The design includes simple, conical amps that the speakers can be attached to for out-loud listening.

Walnut + 3D Printed Headphones

I deconstructed some old headphones to refit into the new earpieces. I turned the maple amps and earpieces on a lathe, using a dremel to fine tune them, and 3D printed the headband. The spiraling design is meant to allow rotation of the earpiece to fit to the wearer's head. An elastic hairband attaches the earpiece to the headband and can be adjusted. This simple connection allows the headband to be disconnected and the earpieces attached to the amps.
